Eniola and Seyi Ajani's Superlative Wedding

Even though it’s a couple of weeks now, still riveting at the opulence Eniola kashaam and Seyi Ajani’s (Bunmi Lawson’s only brother) wedding elicits. The ambiance was electrifying. The colour scheme on point. The food, fashion and the creme de la creme fashionistas thronging the isle made a fantastic, fun-filled spectacle! A warm compliment from the groom's sister (Bunmi Lawson) says it all about the centre-piece masterpiece cinderella wedding cake made by Cakeflair: " Thanks for a beautiful cake Juliet, it was the talk of the wedding"...what more can I say,the pleasure is all ours! These pictures speak a thousand words about the event. Enjoy!

Quail Eggs, the ultimate!

Have you ever baked with quail eggs? A friend of mine Bolanle Longe introduced these eggs to me as a nutritional powerhouse. I thoroughly enjoyed them in my salads and thought it would be nice to include them in my baking. My instincts were so very right when I invented my very own quail eggs cake recipe! Check this out! veg oil 3tbsp milk 3tbsp brown sugar 4tbsp Flour 4tbsp cocoa powder 3tbsp quail eggs 4pcs baking powder 1tsp salt 1/8tsp mixed spice 1/2tsp freshly grated coconut 1tbsp (Power up your flour by replacing half of the it with whole grain wheat) and if you are gluten intolerant, replace flour completely with almond meal or teff mix them all up starting from the wet ingredients then add all dry ingredients, pour in a 4inch heart-shaped pan. Bake for about 30mins and there you have your very own Juls'-Quail Egg-Cake. I like to serve mine with a dollop of whipped cream right in the middle of the heart!
Try it and post your comments if you have any! Enjoy your power-packed fun treat... P.S Learn how to create your own recipes. Send me a mail: juliet@cakeflair.net

Count Down to Valentine!

What is your love language? Say what. Does love have a language? Lol...honestly, first time I heard that phrase love language, I was beside myself with laughter. I didn't realise love had a language until I later found out that mine was bilingual! Lol... I couldn't just understand why I was once described as "ungrateful" simply because I didn't quite show a lot of my usual exuberance once I got this "special gift" from this person. I was polite and courteous with an appropriate "thank you to go with it; but alas! This person didn't "feel" me as excited...long story short, once I got on that journey of personal discovery and self-awareness why gifts dont really "trip" me I then decoded this complaint about my "seeming aloofness". I don't feel as much love with Gifts as I do with acts of service. What I mean is this: If you love me, work for me! Words of encouragement sounds good, but trust me, I can encourage myself! The special things that give me that wow-factor feeling are "acts of service" and "quality time". Entrepreneurs are freaks of nature, we are givers and not takers, so to make us really feel loved, come and work for us! Lol... I dedicate this post to every baker and cake decorator out there working tirelessly to ensure you have those special yummy gifts of cakes, chocolates, flowers, and other very suggestive gift items to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day. From our stable, check out the "heart-Of-Chocolate"cakes,"Open-heart Strawberry Shortcake" and our signature MRVCH cake! Just click our online store to order directly. All our deliveries this season will be done by Easy-Taxi as usual. We are here for you... One more
special dedication to Valerie Dawodu, thanks babes!

Tukur's Cake: More Heart-Warming Than Wenger's Arsenal

It was about 3.30pm, I was visiting YabaTech engaging some very ambitious young artists about the possibilities awaiting them in the outer world upon graduation when my cell phone rang... ...It was Chioma my church buddy. Chioma: " Hey Juls, could you please help us put together a very nice birthday cake for our boss" Moi: "When do you want it?" Chioma: "Tomorrow morning" Moi: "Tomorrow morning ke? what kind of cake cuz time too short for anything serious o" Chioma: " He's an avid Arsenal Fan, so a cake like that" After trying to wriggle out of the deal to no avail, I tried to see what can be done. A bas relief 2-D edible sculpture of Arsenal Crest would require alot of time and space without the usual adrenaline-pumping experience that is laced with every job that goes out of Cakeflair!... ...Somehow the magic happened, the cake was an instant hit at her office, their boss loved it! What surprised me most was the personality of their MD, very charming and very young too! The image I had of a Bamanga Tukur's son is one heck of a huge order. He had that "Fulani simplicity". I dont know where I got that label from, I dont even know if he is fulani! Even though Im usually not the type that gets easily star-struck, I was on this occasion. Anyways, Cake was loved by all and thoroughly enjoyed. Best of all the charming young man ate his cake and got his Arsenal closer home! Happy Birthday! Mahmud Tukur...

#Bring Back Our Girls

As a mum, I pray the Chibok girls will not only return home safely, they'll be restored spirit, soul and body. Let's keep hope alive and keep putting pressure on relevant authorities to find our girls. God bless Nigeria.

A Cake for Funke Aboyade (SAN) :A Delicious Verdict...

...
Funke Aboyade (SAN) was ecstatic when she saw her 50th birthday cake! Our very own signature ‘fusion’ cake of coveture chocolate marbled in southern red velvet with Philadelphia cream cheese filling all covered in pearl lustrous fondant. I think the edible newspaper featuring her column pulled in that wow-factor effect Cakeflair is known for. All hail the queen Mokut Udofia who commissioned the order to go ahead with her brain-wave idea of a special edition newspaper cake! As for the senior advocate of Nigeria, I must have hit the gavel big time, because she so totally loved the cake; I still feel the warmth of her laughter as I reflect on that deep satisfaction etched on her face. And when the verdict from everyone (unanimously agreed that the cake was a hit!) was read, I gladly accepted it - guilty as charged! lol Happy Birthday!

Man-in-Kente: Afieya pa! Kobby Bentsi-Enchill

No doubt, I’m an authentic Nigerian and very proud of my national heritage (Eyelashes!) and with my keen Nigerian eye, I truly celebrate the brilliance of popular Ghanaian alter-ego – “The Kente “. I had the utmost pleasure crafting this quintessential kente couture cake. I was inspired by Akofa, the celebrant’s wife – her heart-warming love for anything Ghanaian. Almost impossible to let the opportunity pass me by! Yes, a great opportunity to acknowledge Mr Kobby Bentsi-Enchill , a refreshing taskmaster of excellence whose clinical insights tipped Cakeflair Ltd into making that critical transition from passionate home baking to rising 5-star sugarcraft enterprise. Exhilarating! I celebrate your spirit of excellence sir… …Enjoy your cake!
